Sometimes the best environmental stories aren't about the problem. They're about the people solving it. Patagonia’s marketing team came to us with a spark of an idea: tell the story of how Bureo turns discarded fishing nets into a closed-loop recycled raw material. We developed that into a short film that’s equal parts informative and charming—centered on Bureo’s founder, Ben, as he walks us through the surprisingly hands-on process of turning ocean waste into high-performance material. This wasn’t your typical environmental doom-and-gloom story; it’s solution-driven, human, and a reminder that small-scale innovation can lead to big change. Since the film’s release, Bureo has gone from making hat brims to becoming the backbone of Patagonia’s recycled line, now partnering with brands like Nike, Rivian, Outerknown, and REI.. We’re proud to help share work like this—projects with purpose are exactly why we got into making films in the first place.
